DARCI Field Day Update!
J7 – DARCI Field Day
The Dominica Amateur Radio Club Inc. (DARCI) held field day number 2 today, April 21 2018. The said day started at 7.30am local time and ended about 1.30pm local time.
The purpose of the field day was to exercise our state of preparedness and expose the novice class and students to a field day and get hands on experience to setting up equipment and to operate and make contact with the other field day stations.
Stations were setup at the following locations: the Club site J73Z at Canefield, Botanic gardens, Police Headquarters, Grandbay, Goodwill, Castle Bruce, Portsmouth, Salsbury and Cappuchine.
During the exercise we communicated via HF radio between all our stations across the island. We also had good communications with Trinidad, Barbados, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Anguilla. The students were exposed to all the various modes of communications we can use as hams. The students also made contact with other amateur radio operators. The purpose of the field day exercise was achieved with good attendance and lots of fun.
The frequencies used were 3.800.00 MHz Lsb and 7.210.00 MHz Lsb.
DARCI thanks all who attended and participated and of course all the operators: J73MBQ, J73EW, J73KW, J73MH, J73AH, J73EJC, J73CI, J73WA, J73HJ, J73CC, J73JT, J73GAR, J72HGL, J73RJ, J79WTA and J72GPG.
